Art Residency

About the Residency

The WA Museum is in Beigou Village, just outside Beijing in the Huairou District.

Our Art Residency Program invites artists worldwide to explore and discuss contemporary practices in the context of China's changing culture.

Since opening in 2021, the WA Art·Architecture Museum has become a hub for cultural exchange and new architectural ideas.

You'll Experience

  • Dedicated workspaces on-site or nearby give residents the freedom to focus, explore, and respond to place.

  • Modern, comfortable lodging keeps you immersed in Beigou's natural beauty—so you can rest, reflect, and create without leaving the landscape.

  • Our curatorial and research teams will connect you with local artists, village residents, and partner institutions in Beijing and beyond.

  • Artist talks, workshops, critiques, open studios, and potential exhibitions at WA Museum or partner venues help your work reach new audiences.

Why WA Museum

Set at the intersection of rural vitality and architectural imagination, WA Museum is more than a space—it's a living environment for artistic growth.

Beigou Village's pace is slower, the air is clearer, and the context is rich. Artists can walk the hills, talk with neighbors, and rethink their practice within a place where history and experimentation meet.

Begin Your Residency

We invite you to create, reflect, and connect in a space where art is not isolated but integrated—with landscape, people, and time.
