About Wa Museum
Wa Museum grows from Beigou’s cultural roots—honoring rural rhythms, local memory, and life beneath the Great Wall through art and space.
About the Museum
Nestled beside the Beigou Village Committee at the foot of the Mutianyu Great Wall, WA Museum is an experimental extension rooted in local cultural soil.
Wa honors the original site and the textures of village life, weaving rural culture with artistic language to respond to the quiet solemnity of the land. Through creative practice, it seeks to revitalize the image of the village and propose a forward-thinking aesthetic at the intersection of urban and rural.
Eleven years ago, a village resort built beside the once-abandoned glazed tile factory brought Beigou into the public eye, connecting it with the city—and eventually, the world.
Covering 660 square meters, Wa’s façade features 9,696 amber ceramic tiles and 66 glazed bricks. From daylight to dusk, the shifting light and shadows reveal a dynamic interplay of time and space.
Today, the Wa Museum has become a cultural landmark in Huairou, Beijing, and a window between the urban and the rural.
Vision & Mission
WA Museum is rooted in Beigou Village, blending rural heritage with contemporary art to spark dialogue between the countryside and the city.
It envisions a vibrant cultural bridge where tradition meets innovation, reshaping the rural edge of Beijing through art and architecture.

Villagers are free to visit exhibitions and enjoy art in daily life,
